SheaMoisture’s Low Porosity Line

SheaMoisture is hands down one of my favorite brands for haircare and cosmetics.

I only recently heard about porosity and how important it is in terms of taking care of natural hair. After testing my hair’s porosity with the float test, I realized that it has low porosity meaning it resists moisture. Shortly after I read up on porosity, I found out about SheaMoisture’s new Baobab & Tea Tree Oils Low Porosity Protein Free product line. Coincidence? I think not.

You see, the good Lord has a way of blessing you at the right time…

This line is nothing short of amazing and I consider it a blessing indeed. Before I get to the actual review portion of this blog post, I must admit that I have a bit of a bias because of my aforementioned love for SheaMoisture. Everything I say is true but I am like that girl with a crush on a guy that borderline thinks everything he does is cute. And SheaMoisture is that hot guy for me so keep reading if you dare to find out more about this love affair.

Shampoo

The shampoo leaves my type 4 hair squeaky clean without feeling stripped. During and after use, my curls are popping in a way that I wish they’d stay all the time. It can definitely be labeled as my new one-and-only shampoo. The only time I foresee myself using anything else is when I run out of this stuff or the product junkie in me just wants to test something else out.

Conditioner

The conditioner is my least favorite of the line which should take nothing away from its fabulousness. If you’re on a budget and can’t get all three products, get the shampoo and the leave-in.  You can deep condition with something you already have or try a DIY conditioner to save money. My hair was soft after using it and next time I plan to try it with my steamer to see if that makes my experience even better.

Leave-in Conditioner

My hair is usually dry and requires attention about two days after styling. When I use this leave-in, I’m able to be a bit lazy and make it from Sunday night until the end of the workweek without doing much else. It absolutely helps my hair maintain moisture as its designed to do.

The bottom line:

Yes, just yes. If you have low porosity hair you should check this line out pronto.
