Home Decor: Reading Nook in Master Bedroom

Happy Wednesday!

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to do what I truly love doing… Stare at home decor inspiration, take naps, eat snacks, and wish for a West Elm gift card to make my wildest dreams come true. Work has been crazy and I’ve been tackling a few other projects as well. Busy or not, I’ve been wanting to take our home decor game to the next level and I thought I’d share some of my inspiration with you.

The first area I’m planning to work on is our master bedroom. I really want it to be like an oasis for us, a place where we can truly relax and not just sleep like we’ve been doing. I feel like adding a reading nook can not only provide a relaxing environment, but help me read more often.

I’ve been Pinterest browsing my life away and words can’t explain how many photos I want to recreate. Check out these photos of some of my favorite reading nook inspiration:

Cute right? As you may have noticed, I’m a fan of grey. Pretty much all the walls in our home are some shade of the color. For our master, I’ve already purchased white curtains, two of these chairs, and a few gold and silver accessories. I’ll be sure to post the finished product once I get a lamp and some throw pillows. Do you know of any cool places where I can find a gold floor lamp? I’m also considering making my own pillows, but I’m not sure yet.In the meantime, I’ll keep perusing magazines and the internet for inspiration. I’ll attempt tackle home decor projects one room at a time.

If there’s no space in your bedroom for a reading nook, consider finding space in another room. Check out this dream nook for a living room as an example. I believe that no matter how big or small your space is, you can find a way to designate some space for reading. It’s a must!

So are you digging these reading areas? Are you encouraged to create one of your own?

  1. Wow! You are so talented! I unfortunately have an idea but never can execute. DIY is just not for me. Lol sounded good but I’ll be copying your looks. It’ll look stalkerish at first but it’s cool ???
