First thing’s first, please know that this post is time sensitive because Ann Taylor is having a one day sale online only and that’s where most of the dresses I’m sharing are from. All sale dresses from the retailer are on sale for under $35, yes you read it correctly… $35! If you’re not hip to the Ann Taylor life yet, let me school you.
Ann Taylor (along with Loft and Banana Republic) was one of those stores I ignored in the mall when I was younger with less wisdom. I’d foolishly look in Forever 21 for work attire instead. I used to work at an American Eagle Outfitters that was next door to a Banana Republic and I’d frequently browse in BR but vowed that I’d never shop there because it was just too expensive. I grouped all these stores in the “I can’t afford it” and “it’s for older, more established women” categories and my wardrobe suffered in the long run.
I now know that buying a $25 dress from Forever 21 or Ross that’ll last maybe three washes before it gets damaged is a silly decision and opt for quality clothing that may cost more but lasts for as long as I want it to. Ann Taylor, Loft, Banana Republic and J. Crew are among retailers that sell petite sized clothing so my clothes fit better without having to get alterations. These clothes also hold value and are easy to resell on Poshmark whenever I’m done with them.
